Thanks for the feedback, Valerie. It spurs me on to doing something with all the stuff I've been collecting over the years, the photographs and menus and magazines and instruction booklets.somehow I have to find the time to scan them and put them up. I've never been interested in hoarding.

Glad you enjoyed the post. I was misty eyed when I wrote it. Made me decide that I would scan the artefacts that can be scanned, and have them available to all via this blog. Photographs and memories, as Jim Croce would have said.

Thanks for writing this one. Made me misty-eyed just reading it and remembering old times. I hear a lot about how things have changed in Calcutta. Even the name is not the same anymore :( But for me it is still old cal with all those wonderful memories that you talk about. Something's just never change. And I am so glad.

[...] Confused of Calcutta reminisces about his hometown… I wasn’t one of those people who discovered their love for their home town years after they left it, I started missing Calcutta while still on the train to Delhi en route London. It wasn’t one of these “absence makes the heart grows fonder” deals, I have always treasured the place and will continue to do so. Particularly the memories of the times I had there, family and friends and school and university and everything. [...]

Hi JP. I visited your blog to pick up a link to one of your earlier posts (about the New Shoes photo) and saw this. Many thanks for this Calcutta reflection. A little while ago I wrote to a friend about my college days and shares my memories of your father. Best, chutki
