I could not possibly leave out Hugh Selincourt's The Cricket Match. I also loved the Wodehouse Mike and Psmith series; there are a couple of others I would contend are worth listing here. But later, I have to rush.

Thomas,

You didn't ask for my opinion, but I contend this is fact: there are only three great cricket books:

1. Beyond A Boundary, CLR James
2. Cricket, Neville Cardus
3. The Jubilee Book of Cricket, KS Ranjitsinjhi

There are very many other good cricket books, but it is JP's opinion you are interested in so I will leave that to him.

Scandalously, there is no Wikipedia entry for any of the books I named.

That's an idea, to do a themed timeless top 10. Something to ponder over the break. Thanks for the comments, Thomas.

JP,
The Solove book is excellent, if US centric. (I reviewed it recently.

I'll be adding Turkle and Hague to my reading list.

Have you ever done your best cricket book list? If not, please do so.
If yes, then apologies for my laziness in not searching for it...

Not sure if I should thank you or curse at you - this looks like a great list, which will likely result in spending too much money at the bookstore :-)
