While reading the extract, I was visualizing being there and observing mealtime at your grandfather's table. Absolutely fascinating to discover and read about life in your house told by someone else. I've always tried digging deeper into some of the past from my family as well, but being on the other side of the world of my family's ancestral home in China for most of my life has made that challenging.
