I do care about quality. That's why I read Anant's email to me, why I read the Guardian article he pointed to, which in turn excerpted the Sunday Express story.

So I didn't actually read the Sunday Express.

All that said, we have to be careful about A-list-creation in all walks of life.

Magnificent! A reminder that old-fashioned professionalism, eye for detail, and pride in craft still exist and are still is spoken up for spiritedly. If only someone would help me tighten the prose (and thus the thought and coherency) of my written-in-solitude weblog(s) and other scribblings in a similar way. Even though I try to adhere to a personal style-sheet based on experience and built atop a foundation of Fowler and Strunk and White, "crowd edits" via comments are always welcome!

I happened across Giles Coren's angry letter to his sub-editors a few weeks ago. Read it here when you have time for a smile: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/jul/23/mediamonkey
